Répondant à la seule volonté de partager une passion incommensurable pour la musique jamaïcaine et son histoire, ROOTSBLOGREGGAE est né en 2005. Durant près de 4 années, le blog a tenté d'apporter sa modeste contribution à la compréhension du Reggae et de sa culture, à la (re)découverte de ses tenants et aboutissants, à l'approche du mouvement Rastafari. Au travers d'articles, de chroniques (Lps, 12'', 10'', 7'', Cds et publications de tous poils!), de charts en collaboration avec le magasin parisien Dub Wize, de strips inédits du dessinateur Roland Monpierre, le blog s'est étoffé jour après jour pour le plus grand plaisir de ses quelques miliers de lecteurs mensuels et la centaine d'abonnés à sa newsletter.
Sous la houlette de Jahgreg, DonSelassi et SisterIsa, ROOTSBLOGREGGAE se veut désormais être acteur, après n'avoir uniquement été que spectateur et conteur d'histoires depuis les débuts de son existence. En devenant une structure associative, ROOTSBLOGREGGAE a pour but de promouvoir le Reggae (et consors !), son histoire et sa culture, et le mouvement Rastafari, en soutenant leur diffusion au travers l'administration de son site internet, la mise en oeuvre et/ou le soutien de projets d'aide à la production, promotion et distribution.
L'association se donne ainsi un double objectif : à celui, qui a toujours été le sien depuis le premier jour, de partager sa passion pour la musique yardie et le mouvement Rastafari au travers sa plate-forme Internet, l'associaton a la volonté de faire découvrir ou redécouvrir des artistes, des oeuvres, des textes ou tout autre document pour élargir les champs d'approche et compréhension de notre musique préférée et de Rasta. C'est par le soutien de projet et d'évènement, le pressage de vinyl, l'édition ou la distribution de brochures, livrets et ouvrages, disques et autres produits que ROOTSBLOGREGGAE compte mener son action. En outre, ROOTSBLOGREGGAE se propose d'aider les artistes de tous poils au mode d'expression artistique tout aussi différents (musique évidemment!, poésie, photographie, peinture, dessin, graphisme...) à faire connaître leur travail et à en proposer une distribution. Est-ce utile de préciser qu'association loi 1901, à but non lucratif, ROOTSBLOGREGGAE travaille avec et pour le Reggae, avec et pour les artistes dans le respect total de leur droit et de leur oeuvre.
Enfin, avec la démarche de se constituer en source d'informations et de références musicales certes mais également de natures historiques, culturelles, scientifiques et spirituelles, ROOTSBLOGREGGAE souhaite donner à chacun et chacune, du passionné convaincu ou en devenir à la Soeur Rasta, du simple curieux au fan absolu, une pléthore de pistes et de matières afin de trouver réponse à tout ce que l'on a toujours voulu savoir sur le Reggae sans jamais avoir osé le demander!

Under the leadership of Jahgreg, DonSelassi and SisterIsa, ROOTSBLOGREGGAE aims at promoting the Reggae (and consors!), its history and its culture, and the Rastafarian movement, by supporting their broadcasting through the administration of its web site, the implementation and\or the support of projects , help for the production, the promotion and the distribution.
The association so gives itself a double objective: that, which was always his from the first day, to share its passion for the music yardie and the Rastafarian movement witht its Internet platform, the associaton has the will to make discover or rediscover artists, works, texts or quite other document to widen the fields of approach and overstanding of our favorite music and of Rastafari.
It is by the support of project and event, the pressing of vinyl, the publishing or the distribution of brochures, notebooks and works, records and the other products that ROOTSBLOGREGGAE plans to lead its action.
Besides, ROOTSBLOGREGGAE suggests helping the artists of any border with different artistic style, mode and expression (talking about music obviously! Poetry, photography, painting, drawing, graphics(handwritting)) to make known their work and to propose a distribution. It is useful to specify that association without profit, ROOTSBLOGREGGAE works with and for the Reggae, with and for the artists in the total respect of their rights and of their works.
With the wish to establish a source of information and musical references certainly but also historic, cultural, scientific and spiritual , ROOTSBLOGREGGAE wishes to give to every one, from the convinced passionate sound boy or to become it until to theRasta Sister , or from the simple curious to the absolute fan, a plethora of tracks and materials there to find answer to all that you always wanted to know about the Reggae without ever having dared to ask for it!
ARTISTS, WRITERS, JOURNALISTS, PRODUCERS, TURNERS OR STILL PROMOTERS , ROOTSBLOGREGGAE SUGGESTS BEING MADE THE ECHO OF YOUR DANCE, CONCERTS, MUSICAL PRODUCTIONS, PUBLICATIONS AND the OTHER WORKS STRICTLY ROOTS AND CULTURE AND SPREADING THEM AND DISTRIBUTING THEM.
